Fellow review: a meeting management tool wearing an AI assistant label

Disclosure: we build Flintalk, a real-time meeting assistant. Fellow is only partly a competitor, because most of what Fellow sells is not what we sell, and this review explains that difference. Prices checked on fellow.ai on August 24, 2026.

What Fellow actually is

Calling Fellow an AI meeting assistant undersells the part of it that is genuinely good. Fellow is a meeting management system: collaborative agendas your team fills in before the call, action items with owners that carry across meetings, and notes tied to your calendar. The AI part, a bot called Fellow copilot that joins Zoom, Meet, or Teams calls to record and summarize, sits on top of that management layer.

Reviewers rate it well (4.7 out of 5 on G2 across thousands of reviews), and the praise is consistent: teams whose meetings were chaotic get structure from the agenda and accountability from the action items. That is a real problem solved.

Where it disappoints

The free tier is five AI notes and five recordings, lifetime, not per month. That is a demo, not a plan, and it is the most common complaint alongside inconsistent transcription accuracy. Paid tiers fix the limits: Team at $11 per user monthly ($7 billed annually) with 10 notes and recordings per user per month, Business at $23 ($15 annually) for unlimited, and Enterprise at $25 per user annually with a 10-user minimum. Costs climb fast at team scale.

The other thing to know is what Fellow does not do. Everything it produces arrives after the meeting. The bot joins visibly, records, and summarizes; nothing helps you while someone is waiting on your answer. If your problem is mid-call recall rather than post-call structure, that is a different product category, and the difference is worth two minutes: our guide to what an AI meeting assistant covers explains the split between note takers and real-time assistants.

Who should pick Fellow

Pick Fellow if your team's meetings lack agendas, decisions evaporate, and nobody owns follow-ups. It is the best tool on the market for that, and the bot-based recording is a bonus on top. Skip it if you mainly want transcripts (Fathom's free tier is unlimited) or if you want help during the call itself, where a real-time assistant like ours fits; the honest comparison of that category, including where Flintalk falls short, is on our alternatives pages.
