An AI meeting assistant for Microsoft Teams that never joins the call

Teams meetings are where bots stick out the most: the join notification, the recording banner, the compliance questions. Flintalk skips all of it. It runs on your computer, hears the Teams call through system audio, and puts suggested answers in a private overlay only you can see.

Setup, start to finish

  1. Download Flintalk and drag it to Applications. Sign in with Google or email; the first 30 minutes are free.
  2. Grant the Screen & System Audio Recording permission when macOS asks. This is how the app hears the call audio your Mac plays. There is a "Test audio capture" button in Settings to confirm it works before a real meeting.
  3. On Windows, skip the permission step; audio capture works without one. Then pick an agent for the call and add the documents that matter: the account plan for a customer call, the proposal for a client call. Answers will cite these files.
  4. Join your Teams meeting like always, desktop app or browser, and press Start in the overlay. When a question comes up, the answer streams in about a second.

What Teams sees, and what it does not

Teams sees nothing. There is no bot in the participant list because nothing joins the meeting, and the overlay is excluded from screen capture, so a full-screen share in Teams does not include it. This is macOS content protection doing the work, and it is the part we test against the real Teams app before every release. Why this beats a Teams note taker for live calls

Copilot in Teams and bot-based note takers summarize the meeting after it ends. Useful, but the moment that decides a deal or a renewal happens mid-call, when someone asks a question you half know. A real-time AI meeting assistant answers it while the conversation is still open, from your own files, with the source named. Your transcript can still come from wherever it comes from today.

Teams questions, answered

Will anything show up in the Teams participant list?

No. Flintalk does not join the meeting. It runs as a desktop app on your Mac or Windows PC and listens to the audio your computer is already playing, so there is no bot participant, no 'recording started' banner, and nothing for the other side to admit or decline.

Does it appear in a Teams recording or screen share?

The overlay is excluded from screen capture through macOS content protection, and Teams respects it. Share your whole screen in a Teams call and the overlay is not in the capture. You can verify this yourself with the built-in Safety Test (Cmd-Shift-T), which takes a real screenshot of what others would see.

Do I need the Teams desktop app, or does the browser version work?

Both work. Flintalk captures system audio on your computer, so it does not matter whether Teams runs as a desktop app or in a browser tab.

Does it need a Teams add-in or admin approval?

No. There is nothing to install inside Teams and nothing your IT admin has to approve in the Teams admin center. On a Mac it only needs the Screen and System Audio Recording permission; on Windows there is no permission step at all.
